We believe that you, like all of our students, have your own special strengths and unique challenges. Our services are designed to meet your individual needs. Our one-on-one approach ensures that every one of our students receives the best support possible to maximize the potential for success every semester.

Case Management

Every student is assigned to a personal Case Manager. Case Managers meet with you once or twice weekly to review your academic progress, discuss the support you need, and help you stay accountable. If you encounter any issue, University-related or otherwise, we want you to bring that to your Case Manager. We will help you solve that issue or direct you to the people who can.

Organization

We supply tools and teach strategies to improve organization, planning, prioritization of goals, and scheduling. We focus on building time and resource management skills with students. We help you find and maintain a balance of school, study, rest, and fun!

Tutoring

A student can reserve time with an Academic Mentor & Tutor (AMT) for academic assistance as needed. You can meet in-person or remotely. AMTs are available to tutor for content and also to reinforce the organizational and managerial supports implemented by our Case Managers.  Tutoring support is available in our Student Lab on a walk-in basis (no appointment necessary) Monday through Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm. After-hours and weekend hours support is available by appointment through our convenient booking system.

Learning Tools

  • Reading: We provide assistance with text-to-speech software to help you read your textbooks.
  • Writing: We encourage students to utilize speech-to-text voice dictation in writing software. We assist students with utilizing editing tools.
  • Understanding Lectures: We encourage students to use transcription software for recording and note-taking, and teach them specific methods to organize their notes and materials from class.

Accommodations

All students in Achieve will also register with the Office for Access and Accommodations (OAA). The OAA will create an accommodations plan outlining the accommodations for which a student qualifies. To learn more about that process, please contact the Office for Access and Accommodations.
